Duration
2022-2023
Upon graduation, I joined Twitch as a Product Designer working on the Community Team from the company's San Francisco headquarters. During my time there, I focused mostly on launching Twitch's live alerts editor from designing the flow and visuals for the first time user experience to ensuring consistent integration across the broader Twitch platform. Twitch is built on strong communities. Working there taught me to share work early, narrate my design decisions to earn buy-in, and play co-op with partners across product, eng, and research. I'm grateful it's where my career began.
An editor built of modular, interoperable blocks
Twitch's alerts editor is a native tool that lets streamers design custom alerts for their livestreams. It's designed to give streamers a clear idea of what their alerts will look like before going live.

The editor is composed of three sections. The left column gives streamers the ability to decide which alert fires without writing a line of logic. The center panel shows a preview of the alert. The right column controls how each alert looks, sounds, and moves.

Explaining Alerts in 30 seconds
Designed the in-product education flow that orients streamers in the alerts editor and makes the case for building alerts natively on Twitch.
Closing the gaps before launch
Onboarding could only teach so much. Streamers still struggled with variant priority, copying the browser source, and staying aware of editor updates. I stepped back to design a more sustainable answer to all three.
