Digitizing the "Failure Is…" Experience
Role
Visual Designer
Developer
Duration
2 day sprint

This project translates the Failure Is… workbook into an interactive web experience. Using Figma, Claude, and Cursor, I rapidly prototyped and built the site in a two-day sprint. As a personal extension of the project, I took on the role of both designer and developer to explore how the workbook’s reflective activities could live and evolve in a participatory digital space.
Landing Page
The site opens with a wall of notes reflecting on what failure means to different people. These responses come directly from user research we conducted while exploring the problem space. I chose to surface these perspectives as a way to prime visitors’ mindsets before they dive into the workbook itself. Visitors can also contribute their own reflections by adding a note to the wall. The experience is powered by a Supabase backend, allowing responses to be added and shared in real time.
The Workbook
The core experience was designed to closely mirror the physical workbook. Instead of writing directly on the page, users place digital sticky notes, recreating the tactile act of adding thoughts and reflections.
Unfolding
One of our favorite moments in the physical workbook is the final unfolding, where the entire journey becomes visible at once. I carried this moment into the digital experience as well. Previously posted sticky notes remain on the full page, allowing users to see their reflections together, and the complete booklet can be downloaded.
